The Gentle Path

A 3-month journey for highly sensitive women who feel overwhelmed and exhausted, and are ready to regain energy, focus, and inner knowing … one gentle step at a time.

NEXT COHORT STARTS IN SEPTEMBER 2026

Does life feel like too much, most days?

Maybe your days feel stressful before they even begin. You wake up tired, already thinking about everything you should be doing, even on days with “nothing planned.”

Or perhaps you’re doing all the right things on the outside, but inside you feel constantly on edge. Your mind keeps racing, your body never really relaxes, and rest doesn’t actually feel restful.

You may feel like there’s no off switch. Always thinking, scrolling, planning, worrying. Struggling to focus, jumping between tasks, procrastinating on things that matter. You want to do it, but your mind feels foggy and overloaded.

You crave space, yet feel overwhelmed by too much time alone with your own thoughts. Thinking about the future more than you want to, wondering if you’re falling behind, if you’re on the right path, or if things will ever feel more stable or clear.

And even though nothing is “wrong,” life feels fast and demanding. You’re exhausted from holding it all together and secretly wondering if it’s supposed to feel this hard.

If you can relate to these experiences you are not alone!

The pressure on women today is real, and feeling overwhelmed is becoming increasingly common.

Exhaustion feels normal.

Anxiety feels like the inevitable side effect of trying to keep up with school, work, relationships, social feeds, and a world that never stops updating.

Life isn’t supposed to feel like this.

The good news is that you’re not broken and you don’t need more willpower, you’re just tired and stuck in survival mode.

When your body is constantly alert and scanning for threats, rest doesn’t come as easily as you expect. Slowing down can feel uncomfortable or even stressful.

That’s why logging off feels impossible, meditation feels hard, and bed rotting becomes the only thing that “feels good.”

You might think that you need another checklist or self-care trend but what you need is a nervous system that feels safe again.

Why nervous system regulation changes everything

Regulating your nervous system is about teaching your body that it’s safe enough to stop being on high alert.

When that happens, things start to shift naturally:

  • Your thoughts slow down

  • Focus becomes easier

  • Emotions feel less overwhelming

  • Rest actually feels restorative

Just because your body isn’t treating everything as a threat anymore.

Your nervous system doesn’t change through willpower or big breakthroughs, it changes through repetition. Small signals of safety, again and again, over time. That’s how your brain learns new patterns.

Trying to “fix everything” just keeps your system stressed. Doing a little, consistently, is what actually creates regulation.

This is why I created The Gentle Path: a 3-month container to support nervous system change over time. Because regulation happens through small, consistent practices, not pressure or perfection.

Introducing

The Gentle Path

A 6-month program for overwhelmed and exhausted women who want to regain energy, self-trust, and mental clarity.

In The Gentle Path you will:

  • Get a clear, nervous-system-based understanding of why you feel overwhelmed so you stop blaming yourself and start understanding what’s actually happening in your brain and body.

  • Get the ability to notice thoughts without getting pulled into them, learning how to observe mental worry and self-criticism without spiraling.

  • Access practical tools that fit into an already overwhelming life, such as short video lessons and somatic practices designed to be doable, even on low-energy days.

  • Understand how gentle rituals bring rhythm and stability into everyday life, creating a sense of safety and consistency over time.

  • Learn the ability to listen to your body’s signals, and make choices that actually work for you.

  • Experience more mental clarity and steadier focus, with less brain fog and procrastination.

  • Learn to regulate your nervous system, so your body can feel safe enough to rest when you need rest, and focused and present when you need to show up.

What makes The Gentle Path different

A lot of online programs out there aren’t made for an overwhelmed mind.
They’re often short and intense containers or packed with so much information that it's hard to keep up.

The Gentle Path is different on purpose.

Instead of cramming everything into 6–12 intense weeks, this program moves slowly.
Because nervous system regulation takes time, and because real change happens when you do a little, consistently.

You’ll get short, weekly videos that simplify neuroscience and translate it into language that actually makes sense. As well as soothing practices and flows to calm and work with your nervous system.

The Gentle Path combines two fundamental levels of stress regulation that are rarely brought together: how your mind relates to stress, and how your body holds it.

At the metacognitive level, you will come to understand your unique patterns around stress, what you believe about it, how you interpret it, and which strategies and lifestyle choices truly help you. At the nervous system level, you will learn practical tools to calm stress responses directly in the body, working with your physiology rather than just your mindset.

Together, these two levels create something neither can achieve alone.

In addition theres a monthly Q&A where you can submit any questions you have. Where you can get personal feedback, learn from others and feel supported. Its community without the stress of performing.

The goal is to help you truly feel better, and giving you tools you can keep using long after the program ends.

Heres everything you’ll get with The Gentle Path

Bonus: create your own tea ritual workbook

Learn how to create your own tea ritual, a sacred time just for you, where the stillness of tea become a gentle way to listen to yourself and calm your nervous system.

This program is for you if:

  • From the outside, you’re doing “fine”. But on the inside, you’re running on caffeine, willpower, and that low-key fear that if you stop, you’ll crash out or fall behind.

  • You’ve been called “too sensitive” or an overthinker. Your brain notices everything and feels everything. And no one ever taught you how to turn the volume down.

  • You want your focus back so you can actually finish things instead of losing hours to doomscrolling or “brain rot.” To feel present instead of constantly distracted and scattered.

  • You keep telling yourself you’ll rest “tomorrow” or “after this”. But life never actually slows down.

  • You’ are tired of always feeling overwhelmed and exhausted and are ready to do some changes in your life to make that happen.

This program is not for you if:

  • You’re looking for a quick fix, a productivity hack, or a “do this and your life will be perfect in 7 days” solution. That’s not possible with nervous system work.

  • You want results without committing. This work is guided and science-based, but it still asks you to show up for yourself on a daily basis.

  • You want to learn it all, and you want as much information as possible. The Gentle Path is made simple and clear on purpose. It is avoiding information overload while emphasizing the practical and embodied work necessary for nervous system regulation.

Meet your guide

Hi, Im Dr. Mariel Hjelle, I studied stress for years, earned a PhD in it, lived through my own seasons of overwhelm, and built Gentle Brain to help women befriend their mind and body.

My story is not unique. As a young and ambitious woman, I believed that achievement came from getting out of my comfort zone, pushing through, and ignoring negative emotions and fatigue. I wore busyness like a badge of honor. And for a while, it seemed to work.

But underneath the productivity, something was always running. A body that was tired in ways sleep didn't fix. A mind that couldn't truly rest, even in the moments that were supposed to feel good. An immune system stretched thin and slow to recover after every illness.

So I did what high achievers do: I spent years studying stress. And the more I learned, the more I understood that the strategies I had been using to "manage" stress were actually making it worse. What changed everything wasn't a productivity hack or a new fitness routine, it was working with my brain and nervous system instead of against it. Today, I have more focus and energy than I ever did in my striving years.

Now I want to offer other women what took me years to learn. I have developed The Gentle Brain Method, drawing on my own research, neuroscience, and embodiment. Offering you a gentle but real shift in how your brain and body respond to and regulate stress.
